There is only one thing I can think of that is a comparison between Rowdy and Gordy.
They both have been protecting and standing up for Junior. I would guess they both get a weird sensational feeling for making Junior feel incompetent, and unable to fend for himself.
Rowdy and Gordy go to different schools. They both live in different towns. The Indian Reservation that Rowdy grew up on is rough and ruthless. The town of Reardan seems kind and friendly. Looking at Rowdy, he must have a huge hatred against education. Gordy has a almost disgusting passion for learning and reading.
